On Thursday March 2, 2017 the honorable Judge Vince Chhabria, United States District Court for the Northern District of California and graduate of UCSC, class of '91 visited campus as part of the Legal Studies Program's Distinguished Speakers Series.
The event began with an introduction by Dr. Elizabeth Beaumont, Director of the Legal Studies program, and the format was styled as a conversation between the Judge and his former professor Dr. Daniel Wirls. The two spoke about his time as a student at UCSC, his time at law school and the professional career that has led him to become a federal judge. After a question and answer session the judge had an informal meet and greet with the dozens of students in attendance.
